Boil egg noodles according to package instructions until tender, drain, rinse with cold water, and set aside.

  2. 02

Heat sesame oil in a large skillet or wok over high heat.

  3. 03

Add sliced chicken, grated ginger, and minced garlic, stir-frying for 4 minutes until chicken is cooked through.

  4. 04

Add julienned carrots and sliced bok choy, tossing continuously for 2 minutes until bright and crisp-tender.

  5. 05

Add drained egg noodles and soy sauce into the wok, tossing vigorously over high heat for 3 minutes until noodles absorb sauce.

  6. 06

Garnish with chopped green onions and serve immediately.

A LITTLE KITCHEN KNOW-HOW

High-Heat Stir-Frying

Tossing ingredients continuously in a very hot pan to cook rapidly while maintaining vegetable crispness.

Notes from the kitchen

  • Pre-cook noodles slightly firm as they will absorb sauce and soften further during the stir-fry step.
  • Slice chicken against the grain into thin strips so it cooks rapidly without drying out.
  • Original home-cooking adaptation inspired by Madagascan; regional versions vary.
  • Use halal-certified meat, poultry, stock, sauces, cheese and other processed ingredients. Check labels and avoid cross-contamination. Recipe screening is not halal certification.
