A LITTLE KITCHEN KNOW-HOW
Timur Oil Infusion
Sizzling ground timur pepper briefly in hot mustard oil to release its citrusy, numbing essential oils into the cooking base.
Notes from the kitchen
- Heat mustard oil until it reaches smoke point briefly to mellow its sharp raw pungency before cooking.
- Ground timur pepper creates a tingling sensation on the tongue characteristic of authentic Nepalese noodle soups.
- Original home-cooking adaptation inspired by Nepalese; regional versions vary.
- Use halal-certified meat, poultry, stock, sauces, cheese and other processed ingredients. Check labels and avoid cross-contamination. Recipe screening is not halal certification.
